The Air Force 1’s 40th anniversary has grabbed center stage. While another iconic year for the company is being enjoyed by one of its most distinctive shapes. Moreover, it is currently marking its 50th year of continuous use. As a result, Sacai and UNION LA have dominated Nike Cortez releases. But the shoe’s most recent design may portend an increase in inline possibilities.
The celebratory silhouette is now evoking Georgetown’s enduring colors after this year’s Air Jordan 6, Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85, and recently released Nike Terminator served as vehicles for their obsession with the Hoyas. The pre-worn set, which is supported by a suede top, first indulges in a dominant dark grey outfit that is complemented by antique cream laces and its mesh tongue construction. The smooth leather midfoot Swooshes and “NIKE” branded heel tabs are outfitted in dark navy, while the tucked-away insoles offer the titular orange extension. Underfoot, a “Sail” and navy midsole replicates the aged appearance seen above, and the pair’s serrated tread is finished with a crisp white outsole.
Enjoy the official photos of the Nike Cortez “Georgetown” below. While we wait for more release information from the company.
