The irreverent “Kiss My Airs” pack from Nike is back.
The “Kiss My Airs” series debuted in late 2020 and early 2021. It has several Nike Sportswear classics sporting the brash tagline on an outside tab on the upper. Moreover, it is further marketed by the usage of Tinker Hatfield’s safari print. Nearly two years later, the Air Max 97 from that in-line collection is still available. It features a well-known “Silver Bullet” colorway and textured material on the main layer of the upper. Light neon green accents can be noticed on the tiny Swoosh emblem and the forefoot area of the visible Air Unit.
Considering Tinker had little to do with the 97 (or even the previously seen 95 model), the use of safari print is somewhat unexpected. But there’s no denying that this quirky material, which was inspired by a couch, transports us back to that revolutionary era of Air Max shoes that left the industry in the dust. The phrase “Kiss My Airs” therefore sounds appropriate.
