Adidas basketball has been quietly working behind the scenes on their rejuvenated on-court products for the future of the sport. Moreover, they’re working with Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard, and James Harden leading their collection of signature silhouettes. Jerry Lorenzo’s influence on the basketball world is now being fulfilled with the brand-new adidas Crazy New Era. Moreover, it is nearly two years after he shook up the market by switching from The Swoosh to The Three Stripes.
A first look at adidas’ newest lineup of on-court options and ensuing retooled attire has been provided by three days and nights spent in the desert gathering content and stories for the pair, named “Remember Your Why.” The Crazy New Era bears uncanny similarities to the late Kobe Bryant’s debut signature design for the German company. Like the adidas Crazy 1, it adopts a similarly constructed, streamlined aesthetic, molding its crisp white leather panel into a uniform ensemble that extends across its vertically ridged vamp. The shoe’s laceless upper features a zipper shroud in pitch black. Moreover, it creates a one-piece sock construction above and matches the shoe’s reduced heel counter and tread underfoot.
