The Nike Air Force 1 has been the standard shoe in numerous nations since its release in 1982. Japan is one of those nations that has embraced Bruce Kilgore’s brainchild, inspiring special editions like the “NAI-KE” series.
The newest “NAI-KE” offering indulges in a brown hairy suede over its upper, which is a phonetic pronunciation of “Nike” in kanji. The midfoot, tongue, and heel all have decorative stitching, further confirming the Air Force 1‘s Japanese inspiration. While midsoles have a slightly-yellowed finish that refers to the vintage sensibilities prevalent in the “Land of the Rising Sun,” lace dubraes also acknowledge the Far Eastern Asian influence.
